Hi there! My name is Juanita a.k.a. Katz, and I am Chief Slave to the BigKatz Maine Coons.

I am an experienced hobby breeder, although I started off in dogs - Staffordshire Bull Terriers, to be precise - and was a highly successful judge, breeder and exhibitor for more than 25 years.

As a specialist Championship show judge for Staffordshire Bull Terriers, I was honoured to judge on many occasions in the UK, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. I also qualified to judge the Terrier Group at Championship show level, and the Hound Group at Open show level.

I did exceptionally well on the breeding side of things, with my pups being purchased by fellow breeders as their foundation stock in the USA, Sweden, and Brazil. I also published 5 hardback limited edition annuals on the breed in the '90s, entitled "Stafford World" - rare to find now, but occasionally available from specialist book sellers.

As time went by, arthritis took hold of my joints and the Staffords regrettably became too much for me to handle - and hence my adventure with Maine Coons began! The joy they bring me each and every day is hard to describe, but once you have been owned by a Maine Coon you will know exactly what I mean!

The young lady in the picture at the top is Agatha, who was my first queen. She is retired now and spends her time on my lap or playing with the kittens who are all her grandchildren or great-grandchildren!

Agatha was bred by Angie Gillard who was my mentor when I started breeding Maine Coons about 7 years ago. I am so grateful for the huge amount of teaching that Angie freely gave me.

Agatha was 7 months old when this picture was taken. You will see pictures of her as a mature lady in this website - she is big, bold, and beautiful!

My active queens are Molly (Agatha's half-sister), Dixie, and Amarunta (Agatha's daughters). I have one princess who I hope will graduate to queen status in the future - Georgina (Amarunta's daughter).

This majestic fellow is Saxon, my beautiful tom! He was 10 months old when this photo was taken, and a friend of mine animated it for me. Love this boy so much!

BigKatz Maine Coons is a registered hobby breeder. My kittens are GCCF registered and I only breed from health-checked parents. My kittens do not go to their new homes until they are at least 13 weeks old, fully vaccinated, microchipped, vet checked, and treated for worms and ticks/fleas.
